This page explains what information I collect when you visit artfulembodiment.com, join a workshop or membership, or work with me, and what I do with it. "I" and "me" mean Michelle L. Hess, who does business as Artful Embodiment, based in California.
What I collect
- Information you give me. Your name and email address when you sign up for a workshop, a session, the Circle, a waitlist, or a free guide. Sometimes a phone number, if a form asks for it. Anything you write to me in a message or email.
- Payment information. When you buy something, your payment is handled by Stripe or PayPal. I never see or store your full card number. I receive a record that you paid, along with your name and email.
- Basic visit information. Like most websites, the platform that hosts this site may collect your IP address, browser type, and which pages you looked at. It may also use cookies. If a cookie notice appears, you can choose what to allow.
How I use it
- To deliver what you signed up for, such as Zoom links, replays, and receipts.
- To send you emails about the offer you joined. If you join my email list, I'll also send occasional newsletters and invitations to things I offer.
- To answer your messages and handle support.
- To book and run one-on-one sessions.
- To keep my business records and meet tax and legal requirements.
Who else sees it
I use a few trusted services to run my work, and they process your information on my behalf:
- FlexiFunnels, which hosts this website and its checkout and forms
- Stripe and PayPal, which process payments
- Kit, which sends my emails
- Zoom, which hosts live sessions and recordings
- TidyCal, which handles bookings for one-on-one sessions
Each has its own privacy policy. I don't sell your personal information, and I don't share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.
Live sessions and recordings
Some sessions are recorded so people can watch the replay. If you join a recorded session, your name may appear on screen, and your voice and image may be captured if you turn on your microphone or camera. You're welcome to keep your camera off and use a first name or nickname. Parts of some workshops, like live volunteer demonstrations, are not recorded. I'll tell you when that applies.
Your choices
- Email. Every email I send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can use it at any time.
- Your information. You can write to me to ask what I have about you, to correct it, or to ask me to delete it. I'll do what I can, keeping only what I'm required to keep, such as payment records.
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How long I keep it
I keep your information for as long as you're on my list or a client or member, and for as long as the law requires me to keep business and payment records. After that, I delete it or make it anonymous.
Keeping it safe
I take reasonable steps to protect your information, and the services I use have their own security measures. No website or service is perfectly secure, so I can't promise absolute protection.
Children
My work is for adults. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Coaching and what you share with me
What you tell me in one-on-one coaching stays between us. I won't share it without your permission, except where I'm required by law to protect someone from serious harm. Coaching is not therapy and is not a replacement for it.
Changes to this policy
If I change this page, I'll update the date at the top.
